Ten years old and still going strong

I realised the other day that ‘my’ Spanish u3a group had been going for 10 years! Ten years! It seems like only yesterday that I started it as ‘Spanish Beginners’. The group has kept going because new people have joined over the years and fitted in to where we were in our learning Spanish. We currently have 11 members and space for 2-3 more.

All those verbs we’ve conjugated, all the angst about using por or para, the books and podcasts we’ve read, the difference between ser and estar, pronunciation and spelling, Spanish history and culture…………all has been happening over the last ten years

And most importantly of all, as well as learning Spanish with the u3a we’ve also made good ‘amigos,’ and done some socialising together.

This is the story of ‘our’ Spanish group and I’m proud to be ‘el jefe’.
