We meet at Leader’s home in Weston Favell on the morning of the 4th Friday of the month.

The mythology group has had another interesting year. At the start we agreed to study the beliefs, religions and civilisations of past cultures, but rapidly found quite a lot of relevance to our own beliefs and societies which led us to some lively discussions!

We started pre-covid the vast Celtic culture. so have covered several topics, including Greece and Rome, Scandinavian stories, nibbled at edges of the vast Indian sub-continent and at present are discovering the vast Celtic culture.

We are thinking of going on to look at the Chinese stories.

After the summer break, and as the group has been going for some years now, we have several new members so we are thinking of going back to the Greeks and Romans in the near future, topics more familiar to many people.

At present we have a few vacancies, although we do aim to keep the group quite small and friendly so that no one should be reluctant to take part.

Methods of study usually follow the same path. I, though no means an expert, do an introduction with a plan of study and members choose topics to research and tell us about. This often leads to lively discussion and laughter.
